What is the care like at Westerton?
At Westerton we provide twenty-four hour nursing care for our residents and the well-being of our residents is our top priority.
You’ll be assigned a Primary Care Nurse, who will discuss and assess your needs, as well as develop a Person Centred Plan and monitor and review your care. All our staff (who wear badges identifying them by name and designation) are chosen for their experienced, friendly and caring attitude.
How will you help me to settle in?
Our experienced team are passionate about welcoming and integrating each resident to their new home, and we will take as much time as you need to settle in to your new home. Residents are welcome to bring personal items, such as photographs, ornaments, etc, to make your room truly your own.
From the moment you arrive at Westerton, our staff will do everything possible to ensure that your stay will be welcoming and comfortable. We will endeavour to make your admission relaxed and informal.
Your family and friends are welcome and may remain with you while you settle into your new surroundings.
How often are visits permitted?
There are no visiting times and friends and family are welcome to visit as often as they want and we encourage them to become fully involved in life at Westerton. However, for reasons of security, it is helpful to know if any visitors are expected after 9pm.you can visit whenever you want, as much as you want.
Can I bring my pet?
Regrettably we are unable to accommodate pets except on a visiting basis.
What activities are on offer at Westerton Care Home?
We have Activities Co-ordinators who encourage residents to take part in group activities and events.
They’ll also spend time one-to-one with you and encourage any hobby or reminiscence sessions and shopping trips. Individual therapeutic treatments can also be arranged to suit your needs.
What is the food like?
Our in-house Chefs and Kitchen Staff cater for all dietary requirements, providing a full menu choice for breakfast, lunch and high tea. You can enjoy a meal together with relatives and friends if you wish.
Meals can be provided either in the dining room or in your own room if preferred. After the evening meal, sandwiches, toast, yoghurts and fresh fruit are available all night.
In addition to this, beverages and snacks are served throughout the day in the lounge areas.
What services does Westerton offer?
As we have an independent professional hairdresser who regularly attends our hair salon, we offer a weekly service for all residents. Whether it’s a weekly shampoo and set or a short back and sides that’s required,
we believe a little pampering goes a long way to enhancing your self-esteem.
