At Westerton, one of our many passions is ensuring that our residents get the most out of every day. We encourage our residents to keep doing what makes them happy, whether it’s walking through Westerton’s gardens and grounds, socialising with friends and family, or stretching their legs while visiting the pleasant and historic town centre of Bearsden.

Our Activity Coordinators have a great time creating a range of enjoyable activities for our residents. Despite the fact that we have a minibus to carry our people from one excursion to the next, Westerton is in such a great location that if a family member wants to join in on the fun, there are several local public transport options for our residents and guests to take advantage of.

When you stay with us, whether you choose to focus on remaining active or spend your days channelling your inner creativity, there will never be a dull moment. We believe that no two days should be the same, and we strive to make every day exciting and different for our residents.

We value our residents’ freedom and ability to take responsibility in every situation that they are presented with. As a result, a supervisor does not always oversee the activities but is never too far away to provide assistance. However, It’s always a good idea to have a member of our team on hand for events like day trips and special excursions. At Westerton, we encourage our residents to take responsibility for their lives and do what brings a smile to their faces.

Relocating to Westerton does not imply a significant shift in the way our residents live their lives. Their routines should be as consistent as they’ve always been, and our residents should be able to participate in the activities they enjoy no matter what.

Our activities are completely optional, so if our residents don’t wish to participate for a day or two, that’s fine with us. Our activities programmes are meant to be enjoyed, and there are no repercussions if a resident tries something that isn’t for them. Residents are entitled to spend their days however they wish, so if that’s sitting quietly reading a book, playing a game with loved ones or visiting the town centre for a spot of shopping, they can do exactly that.
