Meet the Team

Heather qualified as an RGN in 2009. Heather has worked in Care Home roles since 2009 as Staff Nurse, Unit Manager and Deputy Manager, with her most recent role working as a Home Manager for 5 years in Ayrshire.

Lesley is our Deputy Manager, she is also a Registered General Nurse, who qualified in 2006, with over 5 years of Care Home experience working within Management roles, Lesley is also our Dementia Specialist Nurse, our champion and is looking forward to bringing her wealth of knowledge to the home.

Steven is a registered Nurse and has been employed within Westerton for the last 5 years.

Joy qualified as a Nurse from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2017, she has worked in healthcare for 10 years, ranging from Home Care, Hospitals, Theatre and ICU. Joy loves getting to know the residents and making them feel at home.

Louise Buckley is the Unit Manager for Bute and Tiree Units. Louise has worked within Westerton since 2015 and has continued to develop her career from Team Leader to Unit Manager. Louise has shown great leadership skills and will lead her team to ensure a high quality person-centred care is provided.

Lorrie was previously a care home manager but realised during the pandemic how much she enjoyed a more hands-on direct contact role with residents and families. When Lorrie was offered the ideal position as unit manager, it allowed her to work both as a nurse and to utilise her management skills to support and develop the unit. Lorries enjoy working in Westerton as every day is different, she has been employed at with us for the last 2 years.

Jutta is one of the nurses at Westerton who has come over from Ghana and worked as a Nurse for 8 years. Jutta enjoys the atmosphere here as all the staff are very supportive and he feels welcomed.

Chinemerem is a Care Assistant within Westerton Care Home who loves his job. Chinemerem feels welcomed by staff since moving from my home country in Ghana and gets satisfaction seeing the residents happy.

Jody enjoys working at Westerton and she feels very supported within the home since moving away from her home country. Jody enjoys working with the residents and like the challenge as back at her home, they have no care homes, only hospital settings.

Lorraine supports all the residents’ social needs and supports them to remain active and feel part of the Westerton Care Home community. Lorraine creates a person-centred approach for all the residents and the trips/activities they like.

Nicole has joined our Recreation Team. Nicole has experience in support and recreation and is looking forward to getting to know the residents and providing meaningful activities and outings for them.

Rose is the first face of the Care Home, she does a fantastic job of show rounds of the Care Home and is the first contact with any enquiries to the Care Home.

Deryk is currently employed doing maintenance around the home at Westerton Care Home. Deryk enjoys his job as every day brings a different challenge and gets satisfaction in seeing a task being completed. Deryk worked in a previous care home before moving jobs to Westerton.

Mark is a joiner to trade, and this is his first time working in a care home setting. Mark enjoys doing maintenance for Westerton Care Home and like the challenges it brings daily.
