Dining Options

We at Westerton Care Home understand the importance of living a happy life, and the role that an enjoyable dining experience plays. Our in-house chefs take great delight in providing home-cooked meals that are always varied and feature some of our clients’ favourite dishes. Meals can be delivered discreetly to residents’ rooms or socially in one of our comfortable dining areas; our residents’ preferences and best interests will always be at the forefront of everything we do.

Food has a considerably stronger impact on our health as we become older, and we recognise that eating a decent meal has a significant impact on our overall health and well-being. Relatives and friends may rest easy knowing that residents are having a wonderful time eating fantastic food every day, thanks to the calm atmosphere provided by the spacious and pleasantly decorated dining areas.

Mealtimes Made With You in Mind

Mealtimes are extremely important at Westerton Care Home because they allow us to spend quality time with our residents while also allowing them to establish strong ties with fellow residents.

We understand the social benefits of sharing meals with others and encourage all of our residents to do so whenever possible. We also offer room service for guests who want to eat in the seclusion of their own rooms. A member of our staff will gladly sit with a resident and assist them in eating at their own pace if they require special assistance; we are always there to help our residents in any situation.

Residents’ friends, family, and loved ones are welcome to join us for supper, by sitting with us in our communal dining spaces, in one of our private dining rooms or even in the garden during the warmer months. Mealtimes can be one of the most enjoyable times for a family and we want to make sure that residents at Westerton Care Home can continue to appreciate that experience.

Dining With Dementia

We pay special attention to detail in order to provide a quiet and enjoyable eating experience for our dementia residents, ensuring that meals are served in a clutter-free atmosphere, alleviating all of our residents’ frustrations and tensions connected with dementia. The use of specialised tableware benefits our dementia residents because it helps them preserve their fine motor skills, allowing them to eat and enjoy their meals as independently as possible. It’s critical that we pay special care to our residents living with dementia, therefore putting additional focus on their dining experiences can make a big difference.
