Westerton Care Home Sponsored Walk For Charity!

sponsored walk

At Westerton Care Home in Bearsden, our brilliant activity team and wider staff recently laced up their walking boots and set off on a sponsored 15-mile trek, all in the name of fundraising and community spirit.

The walk was organised to raise money for two fantastic causes: the residents' activity fund here at Westerton, and the Make-A-Wish charity. Staff were keen to support our in-house activities programme, helping to fund exciting entertainment, outings, and creative resources that bring so much joy to those who live at the home.

The day itself was more than just a fundraiser; it became a brilliant team-building experience. Many of our colleagues got the chance to walk and chat with people from different shifts and departments, which helped build connections and morale across the home.

And the result? A fantastic £727 raised! The funds will be split equally between the home and the Make-A-Wish charity, supporting both our residents and a much-loved national cause that helps grant wishes for children with critical illnesses.

A huge thank you goes to all the staff who helped plan and take part in the walk - your effort and enthusiasm made this event possible. And of course, a massive thank you to everyone who kindly donated. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

This event shows just how much the Westerton team care, going the extra mile (or fifteen!) to improve lives both within our care home and beyond.

Come and see what else we’ve got going on at Westerton Care Home! We love to keep residents active, engaged, and supported through events like this. If you're considering care in Bearsden, we’d be delighted to show you around - get in touch to arrange a visit today.
