Westerton Care Home celebrated Valentine's Day in style with a delicious Valentine-themed meal for residents and their loved ones. The dining room and café had tables decorated with red tablecloths, heart-shaped balloons, and red roses as table centerpieces.
Residents had a three-course lunch finished off with heart-shaped shortbread and ice cream for dessert.
Our residents enjoyed spending time in the café area, socialising with other residents which created a fun friendly atmosphere. Some of the residents had family members visit for a cup of tea and biscuits in the café area, catching up with their nearest and dearest. We believe maintaining relationships with family and friends is really important at Westerton Care Home and we adopt an open-door policy where loved ones of residents are able to visit at any time.
Residents have enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere that Valentine's week has brought to the home. We strive to show our love and appreciation for both staff and residents on a regular basis which was highlighted this Valentine's.
We celebrate many special occasions and national days, no matter how big or small here at Westerton Care Home which gives residents something to look forward to. Residents are always encouraged to participate in the decorating of the home for upcoming national days such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas as we incorporate themed arts & crafts sessions that provide residents with a sense of achievement knowing they have contributed to the preparation of the home.
