Residents Outside The Shops

Residents Enjoy Day Trips Into The Local Community

We’ve been here, there and everywhere recently, and our residents here at Westerton Care Home are loving every minute of it! From local supermarket trips to shopping trips to Milngavie with friends and family for a spot of retail therapy, our residents have really enjoyed getting out and about in their local community.

Throughout the month of August, residents have thoroughly enjoyed our organised trips to Braehead Shopping Centre where residents did a spot of window shopping, finished off with lunch at the Asda food court and met up with some friends. We then ended the day with a trip to the Transport Museum where we learnt all about Glasgow's transport and technology collections, which have been gathered over many years to reflect the importance of Glasgow's contributions to heavy industries like shipbuilding, train manufacturing and engineering.

On another day in August, our ladies headed down to the Wyndford Hub and ended up dancing the afternoon away to lots of familiar songs during a Tea Dance. It was an absolute blast for our residents and a lot of fun for the Westerton staff members too.

We organise exciting day trips as often as possible so that our residents can get the very most out of each day. Here at Westerton Care Home, we recognise the importance of residents being able to get out and explore the local community. Having the opportunity to interact with the world around them allows individuals to learn new things and become more confident while creating new memories and socialising with a variety of people both inside and outside the home.

If you’d like more information about some of the exciting things we get up to here at The Westerton Care Home, we’d love to be able to share them with you.
