Westerton Care Home took part in Glad to Care Awareness Week which celebrates the high-quality care that the care staff deliver daily to care recipients.

Glad to Care Awareness Week holds great importance as it aims to shine a spotlight on the significance of caregiving and the essential role it plays in our society. This dedicated week provides a platform to raise awareness and promote understanding of the challenges, sacrifices, and remarkable dedication of caregivers. By highlighting their tireless efforts in providing physical, emotional, and practical support to individuals in need, Glad to Care Awareness Week fosters a greater appreciation for the invaluable contributions of caregivers.

It also encourages conversations about the importance of caregiving, the impact it has on both the caregivers and those receiving care, and the need for adequate support systems and resources. This awareness week ultimately strives to create a more compassionate and supportive society that recognises and values the extraordinary work of caregivers, ensuring they receive the recognition, respect, and assistance they deserve.

The purpose of Glad to Care Week at Westerton was to raise morale of our staff and thank them from the management team, residents and relatives for their exceptional efforts in caring for our residents and demonstrate to the community how happy the residents are being cared for at Westerton.

The community got involved with relatives leaving thank you videos, and children from Westerton Primary School showed appreciation in a video. There was also entertainment and a delicious buffet that both staff and residents enjoyed.

What a wonderful Glad to Care Week we had at Westerton. We look forward to doing it again next year.
